1.1 Scope. 1.1.1 This standard shall apply to facilities that use flammable and combustible liquids, as herein defined, to manufacture organic coatings for automotive, industrial, institutional, household, marine, printing, transportation, and other applications. 1.1.2 This standard shall not apply to the following: (1)*Operations involving the use or application of coating materials A.1.1.2(1) See NFPA33, Standard for Spray Application Using Flammable or Combustible Materials; NFPA 34, Standard for Dipping, Coating, and Printing Processes Using Flammable or Combustible Liquids; and Chapter 18 of NFPA 30, Flammable and Combustible Liquids Code, for information on the use and application of these coatings. (2)*Storage of organic coatings in locations other than the manufacturing facility A.1.1.2(2) See Chapters 9 through 16 of NFPA 30, Flammable and Combustible Liquids Code, for information on storage of these coatings at other locations.
