Organizational Values of the FD
Technical BulletinLast updated Thursday, February 1, 2007Hall County Fire Services lacked an understanding of the core values of its members, causing a lack of direction and purpose. This research project attempted to discover those values, and determine the process for creating a values statement. Research defined and discussed organizational values and their impact, the values of other fire departments, the values of Hall County's personnel, and how to incorporate these values into a statement for the organization. Descriptive research was used, through a literature review, fire department questionnaires and personnel questionnaires. A determination of values and preparation of a values statement has a positive effect on any organization. Honesty and integrity were values held dear by this department's personnel, as well as other fire departments.
