Enhance Security at Communication Sites
Emergency communication is critical to the successful operation of any Emergency Service Organization. Constant reliability and redundancy must be a priority to insure delivery of services and maintain the trust of the public we serve. Tower sites and equipment buildings are the backbone to any communications system and so the level of failure at these locations can prove to be catastrophic. These sites are often in remote locations, which contribute to possibility of theft, vandalism or terrorist type activity. Once a critical infrastructure failure is realized the recovery time and potential loss of services can be devastating to the organization.
During our recent survey of your sites, it was noted that security at one or more sites was not adequate in comparison to nationally recognized standards and or routine maintenance was current. Some of the areas noted where as follows:
- Exterior Lighting of the tower compound area
- Security Cameras for the tower compound area
- Open Door or Entry alarms for the equipment shelter
- Fortified entry doors and or tamper proof locks for the equipment shelter
- Security fencing protection of the tower compound
- Security fencing protection of the anchor system for guide towers
- Fortified equipment building to national standards
We recommend your organization address these concerns in a manner that is most appropriate for the Emergency Services Organization with a balance of security and financial feasibility.
