Install Standby Generator

The value of an uninterrupted power supply to your facility cannot be overemphasized.  With the dependence of your equipment and operation on reliable and uninterrupted electrical power to remain functional, an emergency electrical generator should be considered an essential piece of equipment. 

During the survey it was determined your facility is not equipped with a reliable standby emergency power supply.  In order to ensure continued 911 and other communications operations in the event of a commercial power failure, we recommend your organization install a standby generator system.  The capacity of the generator should be determined by a licensed electrician, engineer or otherwise qualified person(s).  In addition, battery backup for 911 telephone systems should be provided to ensure uninterrupted system operation while the system is transferring from commercial to backup generator power.

The public reliance for always available emergency 911 communications makes reducing the risk of unplanned down time of your communications center imperative.
