ECD Fire Protection - Portable Extinguishers

Areas with sensitive electrical equipment should be protected by “clean agent” portable extinguishers that will extinguish a fire with minimal risk to the equipment.  Information on the different types of “clean agent” extinguishers should be available from your local fire service companies.  Once obtained, these extinguishers should be properly mounted, labeled and serviced on a regular basis.  If you will be expecting employees to use the extinguishers, then you should provide formal training and develop a fire plan in accordance with applicable safety regulations.
